Irish Christmas Eve

Last week Jimmy Fallon, host of The Tonight Show, was interviewing Alicia Vikander. While interviewing Alicia, she decided to teach him a game from Sweden called, Irish Christmas Eve. Notice what type of bat they used? Yes, a WIFFLE ball bat! Reminds us of a game we play called, dizzy bat… minus the drinking. In Irish Christmas Eve you spin around with your head on the bat and then try to destroy plates with a bow and arrow. Sounds and looks like fun! Plus its always hilarious to watch someone trying anything while dizzy, so we’ve posted the video of Irish Christmas Eve below… enjoy!

Country Music & WIFFLE Ball

What is it about country music stars and wiffle ball? We’d love to sit down with one or more of them to find out and/or play them in a game for charity… We’ve been trying to challenge Brett Eldredge this week as he has a show 10 minutes from us on Saturday.

We haven’t heard back yet, but we’re still hoping to pull this off. Brett is one of the stars we’ve seen linked to wiffle ball the most. Others include Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, and Justin Moore. So, words out! We challenge any and all of these stars to a wiffle for charity game!

Below we’ve attached the videos and social media posts of these country stars and wiffle ball. Enjoy and spread the word. Help make this wiffle for charity challenge happen!

Annual Arenado Pick Up Game

arenado

Nolan Arenado is an all-star 3rd baseman for the Colorado Rockies… he may even be the best third baseman in all of baseball. What does Nolan like to do in his free time you ask? Play WIFFLE ball! The past few years he’s hosted a pick up game at his family home and has even been quoted talking about the sport in a couple articles. Just a week ago the family pick up game happened again and was posted to Arenado’s cousin’s, Josh Fuentes, Instagram page. Also in attendance was Jonah Arenado, who is a 3rd baseman in the San Francisco Giants organization. The three time all-star, Nolan, made things more even keeled in the pick up game by batting lefty.

Some photos and videos from the game are posted below…

Stay tuned for a possible Way Too Beautiful vs. Arenado Family game… ya just never know!

It’s Official!

WIFFLE ball has officially been inducted into the National Toy Hall of Fame… and in our opinion, it’s about damn time!

Below you can watch the full, 13 minute, induction ceremony…

Washington Wizards Play WIFFLE Ball At Practice

1200px-Washington_Wizards_logo.svg

The Washington Wizards played WIFFLE ball to warm up for practice last Tuesday while they were out in Los Angeles.

The Wizards aren’t the first professional team in DC to be linked to WIFFLE ball this year either. Back in April, the Nationals told the Capitals they owed them a WIFFLE ball tournament at the Verizon Center and the Capitals agreed!

We’re thinking it’s time to challenge these three teams to a game and see what they got!

The National Toy Hall Of Fame!

Welcome Back Fast Plastic!

Fast Plastic

Fast Plastic made its comeback this past weekend and with style, hosting the Fast Plastic Texas Open. Teams traveled from all over the country in hopes to win this national championship! The pictures and videos absolutely made us jealous we weren’t there! Hopefully this is only the beginning for Fast Plastic’s return. We’d sure love to compete in AT LEAST the Texas Open next year.

A huge congratulations goes out to our friends Sean Steffy (aka WIFFLEBoy28), Ed Packer, Kevin Norris, and Tyler Wegrzyn of Cloud9 WIFFLE for taking home the Fast Plastic National Championship!

Give ‘Em The “Cheddar!”

Lately there have been some viral videos going around about Golden Stick WIFFLE Ball, which just so happens to be the league that we’ve been playing in since 2010. In a video released by Cheddar, just this past Friday, Way Too Beautiful‘s own Adam Milsted and Ian Crosby make a couple short appearances. The clips they’re in are from the 2011 Yard Championship in Las Vegas, Nevada and the 2013 Fast Pitch Open in Savannah, Georgia.

All in all, this is just another step towards getting WIFFLE on the map! Keep up the good work GSWL. The more viral videos, the better for the sport!

We’ve posted the video below… enjoy!

For the first 3 years, we have had the Wiffle Fall Classic to raise money for The T21 Club of the Delaware Valley and Down Syndrome Awareness. Last year raised money for a different cause.
In early 2016, my very close friend’s 3 year old son Blaise was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma, a rare bone cancer found in his femur. Blaise is a happy, smart, sweet little boy who brings joy to his parents, Annie and Andrew, and his little sister Lucy. Happy to let everyone know, that Blaise Beat It!
After last year, we have decided to continue to help other children in their fight with cancer. Moving forward, the Wiffle Fall Classic will raise funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in the fight against pediatric cancer.
