Line Drives For Luke

Luke Theodosiades is not your average 12 year old… he is a 12 year old fighting Leukemia. Line Drives For Luke was created to raise money towards helping Luke with his fight!

Rules:
– Yellow bats
– Unscuffed balls
– No walks
– 2 strikes = out (even if you foul the 2nd strike)
– Medium pitch
– New pitcher each inning
– 4 inning games or 20 minutes time limit
– After 20 minutes or 4 innings (if game is tied) there is a “hit off”
– $80 per adult team/$40 per kids team

For a first annual tournament, let us start by saying, “WOW!” The turnout was AMAZING! Not only was everyone very welcoming, but tons of people showed up to help support Luke and his family. There were roughly 60 teams between all of the age brackets. This was one of the best turnouts we have ever seen for ANY tournament! They definitely put together a great fundraiser and to top it off they had silent auctions, a Chinese auction, a bake sale, and all the concessions you could think of! There were even multiple news segments that covered this event!

The tournament lasted from sunup to sundown and most people stayed around until the very last pitch. Way Too Beautiful would end up winning the adult bracket championship and took home some awesome Line Drives For Luke Champions tee shirts. We heard some rumblings of this event happening again next year and we sure do hope that it does! It truly is amazing how this small community brought everyone together in an effort to help Luke with his fight.

We hope to see everyone out there again next year to make this event even bigger!
